✧ When a man narrated to me from the Messenger of God ﷺ, I would make him swear an oath, and if he swore, I believed him. Abu Bakr narrated to me—and Abu Bakr was truthful—that he ﷺ said: 'There is no servant who commits a sin, then prays two rak'ahs, then seeks God's forgiveness, except that He forgives him.'

    in المعجم الأوسط, p. 586
  • Mizzī

machine translational-Bukhārī said: Nothing was narrated from him, meaning Asmāʾ b. al-Hakam al-Fazārī, except this hadith and another hadith, in which he was not corroborated. The Companions of the Prophet ﷺ narrated from one another, and none of them made another swear an oath. I (that is, al-Mizzī) say: What al-Bukhārī, may God have mercy on him, mentioned does not impugn the soundness of this hadith and does not necessitate its weakness.

    in المعجم الأوسط, p. 586
