حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، قَالَ: ثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَلَّامٍ، قَالَ: نَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ يَحْيَى التَّيْمِيُّ، قَالَ: نَا فِطْرُ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الطُّفَيْلِ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

مَا انْتَعَلَ عَبْدٌ قَطُّ وَلَا تَخَفَّفَ، وَلَا لَبِسَ ثَوْبًا لِيَغْدُوَ فِي طَلَبِ عِلْمٍ، إِلَّا غَفَرَ اللهُ لَهُ ذُنُوبَهُ حَيْثُ يَخْطُو عَتَبَةَ بَابِهِ.

✧ No servant ever puts on sandals, or goes barefoot, or wears a garment to go out in pursuit of knowledge, but God forgives his sins as soon as he steps over the threshold of his door.
