حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ قَالَ: نَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ يَزِيدَ الصُّدَائِيُّ قَالَ: نَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ قَالَ: نَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عَمْرٍو الشَّيْبَانِيِّ قَالَ:
جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، فَقَالَ: أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ ؟ قَالَ: سَأَلْتَنِي عَمَّا سَأَلْتُ عَنْهُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ، فَقَالَ: الصَّلَاةُ لِوَقْتِهَا، وَبِرُّ الْوَالِدَيْنِ، وَالْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ وَلَوِ اسْتَزَدْتُهُ لَزَادَنِي

✧ A man came to Abdullah b. Mas'ud and said, 'Which deeds are most virtuous?' He replied, 'You have asked me about what I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he said: Prayer at its proper time, kindness to parents, and jihad in the path of Allah. Had I asked for more, he would have given me more.'
