حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي خَيْثَمَةَ قَالَ: نَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَجَّاجِ بْنِ الصَّلْتِ الْكُوفِيُّ قَالَ: نَا عَمِّي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّلْتِ: ثَنَا قَيْسُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ، عَنْ أَبِي حَصِينٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ أَوْ غَيْرِهِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ:

أَيَعْجِزُ أَحَدُكُمْ أَنْ يَقْرَأَ ثُلُثَ الْقُرْآنِ ؟ فَقَالُوا: مَنْ يَسْتَطِيعُ ذَلِكَ ؟ قَالَ: أَمَا يَسْتَطِيعُ أَحَدُكُمْ أَنْ يَقْرَأَ قُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ فَإِنَّهَا تَعْدِلُ ثُلُثَ الْقُرْآنِ

✧ Would any of you be unable to recite a third of the Quran? They said: Who can do that? He said: Can any of you not recite 'Say: He is God, the One'? Indeed it equals a third of the Quran.
