machine translationIt is a false (bāṭil) hadith. The reason is that Maʿmar had a nephew who was a Rāfiḍī, and Maʿmar allowed him access to his books, so he inserted this hadith into them.
in المعجم الأوسط, p. 4757 - Abū al-Ḥasan Nur al-Dīn ʿAlī b. Abi Bakr al-Haythamī
machine translationIts men are trustworthy (thiqāt), except that in the biography of Abū al-Azhar Aḥmad b. al-Azhar al-Nīsābūrī it is mentioned that Maʿmar had a nephew who was a Rāfiḍī, who inserted this hadith into his books. Maʿmar was awe-inspiring and was not questioned, and ʿAbd al-Razzāq heard it.
machine translationFalse (bāṭil). The reason is that Maʿmar had a nephew who was a Rāfiḍī, and Maʿmar allowed him access to his books, so he inserted this hadith into them. Maʿmar was an awe-inspiring man whom no one could dare to question or consult, so ʿAbd al-Razzāq heard it in the book of Maʿmar's nephew. I heard part of this hadith from Abū al-Azhar. This Abū al-Azhar wrote down a great deal of hadith, and whoever narrates a great deal will inevitably have one, two or ten objectionable (munkar) hadiths among his narrations.
in المعجم الأوسط, p. 4757 - Mizzī
machine translationWho is this liar from Nīsābūr who narrates this hadith from ʿAbd al-Razzāq? Abū al-Azhar stood up and said, "Here I am." Yaḥyā smiled and said, "You are not a liar." He marveled at his soundness and said, "The fault in this hadith lies with someone other than you."
