✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ sent out a military expedition. When the people returned, among them was a man recently married. He hastened to his family and found his wife standing at her door. He aimed a spear at her to thrust her, but she said: 'Do not be hasty; look at what is in the house.' He entered the house and found a snake coiled on her bed. He struck its head with the spear, but the snake did not die until the man died. This reached the Messenger of God ﷺ, and he said: 'These houses have inhabitants from the jinn.' So the Messenger of God ﷺ forbade killing the snakes that are in houses, except the short-tailed one and the one with two white stripes.
