حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ خُلَيْدٍ قَالَ: نَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الرَّقِّيُّ قَالَ: نَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَبِي أُنَيْسَةَ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ. عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ:

لَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ آمُرَ بِالصَّلَاةِ فَتُقَامَ، ثُمَّ آمُرَ رَجُلًا يُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ، ثُمَّ آخُذَ حُزَمًا مِنْ حَطَبٍ، ثُمَّ آتِيَ أَقْوَامًا فِي دُورِهِمْ لَا يَشْهَدُونَ الصَّلَاةَ، فَأُحَرِّقَ عَلَيْهِمْ بُيُوتَهُمْ

✧ I was about to order that the prayer be established, then order a man to lead the people in prayer, then take bundles of firewood and go to people who do not attend the prayer, and burn their houses down upon them.
