حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَقِيلٍ قَالَ: نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ قَالَ: نَا أَبُو إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْمُؤَدِّبُ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ أُمِّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، قَالَتْ:

خَطَبَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ، فَقُلْتُ: مَا بِي عَنْكَ رَغْبَةٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، وَلَكِنْ لَا أُحِبُّ أَنْ أَتَزَوَّجَ وَبَنِيَّ صِغَارٌ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: خَيْرُ نِسَاءٍ رَكِبْنَ الْإِبِلَ نِسَاءُ قُرَيْشٍ، أَحْنَاهُ عَلَى طِفْلٍ فِي صِغَرِهِ، وَأَرْعَاهُ عَلَى بَعْلٍ فِي ذَاتِ يَدِهِ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ proposed to me. I said: “I have no aversion to you, O Messenger of Allah, but I do not like to marry while my children are young.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “The best women who ever rode camels are the women of Quraysh — the most compassionate toward a child in his childhood and the most careful of a husband in what he possesses.”
