حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الرَّازِيُّ قَالَ: نَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ أَبِي بَزَّةَ قَالَ: نَا مُؤَمَّلُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ قَالَ: نَا عُمَارَةُ بْنُ زَاذَانَ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ:

لَمَّا انْهَزَمَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ، وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى بَغْلَتِهِ الشَّهْبَاءِ، وَكَانَ اسْمُهَا دُلْدُلَ، قَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: دُلْدُلُ، اسْنِدِي فَأَلْزَقَتْ بَطْنَهَا إِلَى الْأَرْضِ حَتَّى أَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ حَفْنَةً مِنْ تُرَابٍ، فَرَمَى بِهَا فِي وُجُوهِهِمْ، وَقَالَ: " حم، لَا يُنْصَرُونَ "، فَانْهَزَمَ الْقَوْمُ، وَمَا رَمَيْنَاهُمْ بِسَهْمٍ، وَلَا طَعَنَّا بِرُمْحٍ، وَلَا ضَرَبْنَا بِسَيْفٍ

✧ When the Muslims were routed on the day of Ḥunayn, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was on his gray mule, whose name was Duldul, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to her, “Duldul, press down,” and she pressed her belly to the ground until the Messenger of Allah ﷺ took a handful of dust and threw it in their faces, and said, “Ḥā Mīm, they will not be helped.” Then the people were routed, and we did not shoot them with an arrow, nor stab with a spear, nor strike with a sword.
