✧ Ibn Masʿūd entered the mosque while the Prophet ﷺ was standing delivering a sermon. He sat down next to Ubayy and asked him about something, but Ubayy did not answer him. When the Prophet finished his prayer, Ibn Masʿūd said to Ubayy: “What prevented you from answering me?” He said: “Indeed, you did not pray the Friday prayer with us.” He said: “Why?” He said: “Because you spoke while the Prophet ﷺ was delivering the sermon.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Ubayy has spoken the truth.”
