وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ:
لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ سَبْعِينَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الصُّفَّةِ، مَا مِنْهُمْ رَجُلٌ عَلَيْهِ كِسَاءٌ، إِمَّا بُرْدَةٌ، وَإِمَّا رِدَاءٌ، قَدْ رَبَطُوهَا فِي أَعْنَاقِهِمْ، فَمِنْهَا مَا يَبْلُغُ نِصْفَ السَّاقِ، وَمِنْهَا مَا يَبْلُغُ الْكَعْبَيْنِ، فَيَجْمَعُهُ بِيَدِهِ كَرَاهِيَةَ أَنْ تَبْدُوَ عَوْرَتُهُ
Translation

✧ I saw seventy of the people of the Suffa, none of them had a full garment; either a burdah or a rida', which they tied around their necks. Some reached mid-calf, and some reached the ankles. He would gather it with his hand, fearing that his private parts would be exposed.
