وَعَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ. عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ:

مَثَلُ الْقُرْآنِ إِذَا عَاهَدَ عَلَيْهِ صَاحِبُهُ، فَقَامَ بِهِ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ، كَمَثَلِ الْإِبِلِ الْمُعَقَّلَةِ، إِذَا عَاهَدَ عَلَيْهَا صَاحِبُهَا أَمْسَكَهَا، وَإِنْ أَطْلَقَ عُقُلَهَا ذَهَبَتْ، فَكَذَلِكَ صَاحِبُ الْقُرْآنِ

Translation

✧ The example of the Quran when its companion commits to it and stands with it by night and day is like tethered camels: if their owner keeps them tethered, he holds them; if he releases their tethers, they go away. So too is the companion of the Quran.
