حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ قَالَ: نَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ: أَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ. عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ:
قَالَ رَجُلٌ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ: كَيْفَ لِي أَنْ أَعْلَمَ إِذَا أَحْسَنْتُ وَإِذَا أَسَأْتُ ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: إِذَا سَمِعْتَ جِيرَانَكَ يَقُولُونَ: قَدْ أَحْسَنْتَ، فَقَدْ أَحْسَنْتَ، وَإِذَا سَمِعْتَهُمْ يَقُولُونَ: قَدْ أَسَأْتَ، فَقَدْ أَسَأْتَ

✧ A man said to the Prophet ﷺ, “How can I know when I have done well and when I have done evil?” The Prophet ﷺ said, “When you hear your neighbors say, ‘You have done well,’ then you have done well. And when you hear them say, ‘You have done evil,’ then you have done evil.”
