وَبِهِ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ:
دَفَعْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ يَقْرَأُ: أَلْهَاكُمُ التَّكَاثُرُ فَقَالَ: يَقُولُ ابْنُ آدَمَ: مَالِي مَالِي، وَهَلْ لَكَ مِنْ مَالِكَ يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ إِلَّا مَا أَكَلْتَ فَأَفْنَيْتَ، أَوْ لَبِسْتَ فَأَبْلَيْتَ، أَوْ أَعْطَيْتَ فَأَمْضَيْتَ
Translation

✧ I came upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was reciting: 'The mutual rivalry for worldly increase has distracted you' (Qur'an 102:1). He said: 'The son of Adam says: "My wealth, my wealth." And what do you have of your wealth, O son of Adam, except what you eat and consume, or what you wear and wear out, or what you give in charity and send forth?'
