حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ قَالَ: نَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ السَّمَّانُ قَالَ: نَا عُمَرُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْعَبْدِيُّ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ اسْتَقْبَلَ جِبْرِيلَ ﷺ فَنَاوَلَهُ يَدَهُ، فَأَبَى أَنْ يَتَنَاوَلَهَا، فَدَعَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِمَاءٍ فَتَوَضَّأَ، ثُمَّ نَاوَلَهُ يَدَهُ، فَتَنَاوَلَهَا، فَقَالَ: يَا جِبْرِيلُ: مَا مَنَعَكَ أَنْ لَا تَأْخُذَ بِيَدِي ؟ " قَالَ: " إِنَّكَ أَخَذْتَ بِيَدِ يَهُودِيٍّ، فَكَرِهْتُ أَنْ تَمَسَّ يَدِي يَدًا مَسَّتْهَا يَدُ كَافِرٍ

Translation

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ met Jibril ﷺ and extended his hand to him, but he refused to take it. The Messenger of God ﷺ called for water, performed wudu, then extended his hand to him, and he took it. He said: 'O Jibril, what prevented you from taking my hand?' He replied: 'You had taken the hand of a Jew, and I disliked that my hand touch a hand that had been touched by the hand of a disbeliever.'
