وَبِهِ قَالَ:
قَالَ رَجُلٌ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّ لِي قَرَابَةً أَصِلُهُمْ وَيَقْطَعُونِي، وَأَحْلُمُ عَنْهُمْ وَيَجْهَلُونَ عَلَيَّ، وَأُحْسِنُ إِلَيْهِمْ، وَيُسِيئُونَ إِلَيَّ، فَقَالَ: إِنْ كَانَ كَمَا تَقُولُ، فَكَأَنَّمَا تُسِفُّهُمُ الْمَلَّ، وَلَا يَزَالُ مَعَكَ مِنَ اللهِ ظَهِيرٌ عَلَيْهِمْ مَا دُمْتَ عَلَى ذَلِكَ
Translation

✧ A man said: O Messenger of Allah, I have relatives whom I maintain ties with but they cut me off; I am forbearing with them but they treat me ignorantly; and I do good to them but they mistreat me. He said: If you are as you say, then it is as if you are feeding them hot ashes, and Allah will remain a supporter against them as long as you continue in that.
