حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ قَالَ: نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَاهِبِ الْحَارِثِيُّ قَالَ: نَا قَيْسُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ:

كُنَّا أَلْفًا وَأَرْبَعَمِائَةٍ - يَعْنِي يَوْمَ عَزَّ الْمَاءُ - فَدَعَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بِمِيضَأَةٍ مِنْ مَاءٍ، فَجَعَلَ فِيهَا كَفَّهُ، فَجَعَلَ الْمَاءُ يَفُورُ مِنْ بَيْنِ أَصَابِعِهِ، فَاغْتَسَلُوا وَتَوَضَّئُوا وَشَرِبُوا

✧ We were one thousand four hundred — meaning on the day when water was scarce — and the Prophet ﷺ called for a small vessel of water and placed his hand in it. The water began to gush forth from between his fingers. So they bathed, performed ablution, and drank.
