✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ acquired a gold ring and wore it for three days. Then gold rings became widespread among his Companions, so he discarded it and acquired a silver ring, and engraved on it: “Muhammad is the Messenger of God.” It remained on his hand until he died, on Abu Bakr’s hand until he died, on Umar’s hand until he died, and on Uthman’s hand for six years. When paperwork increased for him, he gave it to a man from the Ansar to seal with it. The man came to a well belonging to Uthman, and it fell into it. They searched for it but did not find it. So he acquired a silver ring and engraved on it: “Muhammad is the Messenger of God.”
