حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ: نَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ابْنُ عَائِشَةَ التَّيْمِيُّ، قَالَ: نَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، قَالَ: نَا أَبُو فَرْوَةَ سَلْمُ بْنُ سَالِمٍ قَالَ: نَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عِيسَى بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى قَالَ:
لَقِيَنِي كَعْبُ بْنُ عُجْرَةَ فَقَالَ: أَلَا أُهْدِي لَكَ هَدِيَّةً ؟ قُلْتُ: بَلَى فَاهْدِهَا لِي، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ كَيْفَ الصَّلَاةُ عَلَيْكُمْ أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ ؟ فَإِنَّا قَدْ عَلِمْنَا كَيْفَ نُسَلِّمُ، قَالَ: قُولُوا اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ

✧ Ka'b b. 'Ujrah met me and said: 'Shall I give you a gift?' I said: 'Yes, give it to me.' He said: 'I said: O Messenger of Allah, how should we invoke blessings upon you, the people of the household? For we have already learned how to greet you.' He said: 'Say: O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, as You sent blessings upon Ibrahim. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy, Glorious.'
