حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْبَزَّارُ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، قَالَ: نَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ قَالَ: نَا وَكِيعُ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ الْأَحْوَلِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ أَقْوَامًا سَأَلُوا النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالُوا: إِنَّا نَغْرُبُ عَنِ الْمَاءِ الثَّلَاثَةَ الْأَشْهُرَ، وَالْخَمْسَةَ، فَلَا نَجِدُ الْمَاءَ، وَفِينَا الْحَائِضُ وَالْجُنُبُ وَالنُّفَسَاءُ ؟ قَالَ: عَلَيْكُمْ بِالْأَرْضِ

✧ Some people asked the Prophet ﷺ, saying: “We go far away from water for three months or five, and we find no water, and among us are menstruating women, those in a state of major ritual impurity, and women in post-natal bleeding.” He said: “You must use the earth.”
