✧ He met ʿUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb, took him by the hand and squeezed it. ʿUmar was a strong man, so he said, “Release my hand, O lock of tribulation.” ʿUmar said, “And what is the lock of tribulation?” He said, “I came to the Messenger of God ﷺ one day while he was sitting with people gathered around him, and I sat at the back of them. The Messenger of God ﷺ said, ‘No tribulation will afflict you as long as this one is among you.’”
