machine translationMuḥammad b. ʿAjlān narrates it, and there is disagreement about him. Mālik narrated it, and there is disagreement about Mālik: the narrators of the Muwaṭṭaʾ narrated it from Mālik that it reached him from Abū Hurayrah, without a chain. Ibrāhīm b. Ṭahmān and al-Nuʿmān b. ʿAbd al-Salām narrated it from Mālik, from Muḥammad b. ʿAjlān, from his father, from Abū Hurayrah. Ibn al-Mubārak likewise narrated it from al-Thawrī, and he was followed by ʿAbd al-Ṣamad b. Ḥassān and ʿAbbād b. Mūsā, who narrated it from al-Thawrī, from Muḥammad b. ʿAjlān, from his father, from Abū Hurayrah. Muḥammad b. ʿAbd al-Wahhāb al-Qannād differed from them and narrated it from Ibn ʿAjlān, from Bukayr b. ʿAbdullāh b. al-Ashajj, from Abū Hurayrah. Al-Mufaḍḍal b. Faḍālah also narrated it, and there is disagreement about him: Yazīd b. Mawhab narrated it from al-Mufaḍḍal, from ʿAyyāsh b. ʿAbbās al-Qitbānī, from Ibn ʿAjlān, from his father, from Abū Hurayrah. ʿAbdullāh b. ʿAbd al-Ḥakam differed from him and narrated it from al-Mufaḍḍal, from Ibn ʿAjlān, from Bukayr, from ʿAjlān, from Abū Hurayrah. Likewise Ibn ʿUyaynah, Saʿīd b. Abī Ayyūb, Bakr b. Muḍar, Wuhayb b. Khālid, al-Layth b. Saʿd, Abū Ḍamrah and Ṭāriq b. ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz narrated it from Ibn ʿAjlān, from Bukayr, from ʿAjlān, from Abū Hurayrah, and this is the correct (ṣaḥīḥ) version. ʿAmr b. al-Ḥārith narrated it from Bukayr, from ʿAjlān, from Abū Hurayrah.
