حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ، قَالَ: نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَنْطَاكِيُّ وَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ مَرْثَدٍ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ قَالَ: نَا أَبُو صَالِحٍ الْفَرَّاءُ قَالَ: نَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ الْفَزَارِيُّ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ عَنْ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ. عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ:

كَانَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ يُفِيضُونَ مِنْ عَرَفَةَ قَبْلَ غُرُوبِ الشَّمْسِ، وَلَا يُفِيضُونَ مِنْ جَمْعٍ حَتَّى تَزُولَ الشَّمْسُ، فَخَالَفَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ، فَدَفَعَ مِنْ عَرَفَةَ بَعْدَ غُرُوبِ الشَّمْسِ حِينَ أَفْطَرَ الصَّائِمُ، ثُمَّ دَفَعَ مِنْ جَمْعٍ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ ".

✧ The polytheists used to depart from Arafah before sunset and would not depart from Muzdalifah until the sun had passed its zenith. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ differed from them: he departed from Arafah after sunset when the fasting person breaks his fast, then he departed from Muzdalifah before sunrise."
