حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ، قَالَ: نَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عَبْدِ رَبِّهِ الطَّائِيُّ قَالَ: نَا ابْنُ السِّمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ. عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ:
جَالَسْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ مِائَةِ مَرَّةٍ، وَكَانَ يَجْلِسُ مَعَ أَصْحَابِهِ يَتَنَاشَدُونَ الشِّعْرَ، وَرُبَّمَا تَذَاكَرُوا أَمْرَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ، فَيَضْحَكُونَ، وَيَتَبَسَّمُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مَعَهُمْ

✧ I sat with the Prophet ﷺ more than a hundred times. He would sit with his companions while they recited poetry to one another, and sometimes they would recall matters of the Jahiliyyah and laugh, and the Prophet ﷺ would smile with them.
