حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ، قَالَ: نَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَبِيبِ بْنِ عَرَبِيٍّ قَالَ: نَا مُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: حَدَّثَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ النَّخَعِيُّ وَسُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ. عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ ضَرَبَ مَثَلَ الرِّزْقِ كَمَثَلِ الْحَائِطِ لَهُ بَابٌ، فَمَا حَوْلَ الْبَابِ سُهُولَةٌ، وَمَا حَوْلَ الْحَائِطِ وَعْثٌ وَوَعْرٌ، فَمَنْ أَتَاهُ مِنْ قِبَلِ بَابِهِ أَصَابَهُ كُلَّهُ وَسَلِمَ، وَمَنْ أَتَاهُ مِنْ قِبَلِ حَائِطِهِ وَقَعَ فِي الْوُعُورَةِ وَالْوَعْثِ، حَتَّى إِذَا انْتَهَى إِلَيْهِ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ إِلَّا الرِّزْقُ الَّذِي يَسَّرَ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَهُ

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ gave the example of provision as a walled garden with a gate. What is around the gate is level ground, while what is around the wall is rough and rugged. Whoever approaches it from its gate obtains all of it and remains safe, and whoever approaches it from its wall falls into ruggedness and roughness, until when he reaches it, he has nothing but the provision that God, Mighty and Majestic, has made easy for him.
