حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ، قَالَ: نَا عُبَيْدٌ قَالَ: نَا عَطَاءٌ عَنِ ابْنِ شَوْذَبٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْلَةَ عَنْ رَوْحِ بْنِ زِنْبَاعٍ قَالَ:
دَخَلْتُ عَلَى تَمِيمٍ الدَّارِيِّ وَهُوَ أَمِيرٌ عَلَى بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ، وَهُوَ يُنَقِّي لِفَرَسِهِ شَعِيرًا، فَقُلْتُ: أَيُّهَا الْأَمِيرُ، أَمَا كَانَ لَكَ مَنْ يَكْفِيكَ هَذَا ؟ فَقَالَ: إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: مَنْ نَقَّى لِفَرَسِهِ شَعِيرًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ، ثُمَّ قَامَ بِهِ حَتَّى يُعْلِفَهُ عَلَيْهِ، كَتَبَ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَهُ بِكُلِّ شَعِيرَةٍ حَسَنَةً
Translation

✧ I entered upon Tamim al-Dari while he was governor of Bayt al-Maqdis, and he was cleaning barley for his horse. I said, 'O governor, was there no one to take care of this for you?' He said, 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Whoever cleans barley for his horse in the path of Allah, then stands with it until he feeds it to the horse, Allah, Mighty and Majestic, records for him a good deed for every grain of barley.'
