أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ, أَخْبَرَنِي إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الشَّعْرَانِيُّ, قَالَ: ثَنَا جَدِّي, ثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْفَرْوِيُّ, ثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ, وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ بُشْرَانَ, ثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ صَفْوَانَ, ثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَبِي الدُّنْيَا, حَدَّثَنِي عَبَّاسٌ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ, ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَهْضَمٍ, ثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ, عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ غَزِيَّةَ, عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ قَتَادَةَ, عَنْ مَحْمُودِ بْنِ لَبِيدٍ, عَنْ قَتَادَةَ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ
قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: " إِذَا أَحَبَّ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عَبْدًا حَمَاهُ كَمَا يَحْمِي أَحَدُكُمْ مَرِيضَهُ الْمَاءَ مِنَ الطَّعَامِ " وَفِي رِوَايَةِ الْفَرْوِيِّ: " سَقِيمَهُ الْمَاءَ "

Qatādah, from Maḥmūd b. Labīd, from Qatādah b. al-Nuʿmān.
