أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو حَامِدٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي خَلَفٍ الصُّوفِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ قَتَادَةَ، يَقُولُ: حَدَّثَنَا مُطَرِّفٌ،
قَالَ: كُنَّا نَأْتِي زَيْدَ بْنَ صُوحَانَ فَكَانَ يَقُولُ: " يَا عِبَادَ اللهِ أَكْرِمُوا وَأَجْمِلُوا، فَإِنَّمَا وَسِيلَةُ الْعِبَادِ إِلَى اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ خَصْلَتَانِ: الْخَوْفُ، وَالطَّمَعُ "
