أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ السَّاوِيُّ, بِالسَّاوَةِ, نا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ مَاسِيٍّ, نا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْبَصْرِيُّ, نا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ رَجَاءٍ, أنا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ, عَنْ عَوْنٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ,
أَنَّ لُقْمَانَ, قَالَ لِابْنِهِ: " يَا بُنَيَّ, إِذَا أَتَيْتَ مَجْلِسَ قَوْمٍ فَارْمِهِمْ بِسَهْمِ الْإِسْلَامِ, وَلَا تَنْطِقْ حَتَّى تَرَاهُمْ قَدْ نَطَقُوا, فَإِنْ أَفَاضُوا فِي ذِكْرِ اللهِ فَامْضِ مَعَهُمْ, وَإِنْ أَفَاضُوا فِي غَيْرِ ذَلِكَ فَتَحَوَّلَ مِنْهُمْ إِلَى غَيْرِهِمْ " " وَقَدْ رُوِيَ مَعْنَى هَذَا اللَّفْظِ الْأَخِيرِ فِيمَا "
