Machine translation, not reviewed
He said: I attended the gathering of Abū Muḥammad ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Ḥamdān b. al-Marzubān al-Kharrāz in Hamadān, the hadith scholar of his time. He came out to us while we were sitting waiting for him, and when he came toward us, we all stood up, every last one of us, so he rebuked us. Then he said: Ibrāhīm b. al-Ḥusayn b. Dīzīl narrated to us, he said: ʿAffān b. Muslim narrated to us, he said: Ḥammād b. Salamah narrated to us, from Ḥumayd, from Anas, who said: "There was no person dearer to them than the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and when they saw him they would not stand up, because they knew his dislike of that."
