She said: The Prophet of God ﷺ used to say concerning noble character: "There are ten traits that may be in a man but not in his son, and may be in the son but not in his father, and may be in the slave but not in his master. God apportions them to whomever He intends happiness for: truthfulness in speech, truthfulness toward people, which is that he does not eat his fill while his neighbour and his companion are hungry, giving to the beggar, repaying favours, safeguarding a trust, maintaining ties of kinship, honouring the neighbour's right of protection, honouring the companion's right of protection, and hosting the guest. And the head of them is modesty (ḥayāʾ)."
