That they sat with Ibn ʿUmar. He said: I did not see that he wanted to sit with us until we said: "Come to the gathering, O Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān." He said: I saw him disliking it. He said: Then he sat, and we fell silent, and none of us spoke. He said: "What is the matter with you that you do not speak? Will you not say: Glory be to Allah and praise be to Him? For one is rewarded as ten, ten as one hundred, one hundred as one thousand, and whatever you add, may Allah increase you." I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Whoever's intercession stands in the way of one of the limits (ḥudūd) of Allah has opposed Allah in His command. And whoever dies owing a debt, it will not be settled with dinar and dirham, but with good deeds and bad deeds. And whoever disputes in falsehood while knowing it, remains in the wrath of Allah until he desists. And whoever says about a believer what is not in him, Allah will make him dwell in the mire of khabāl until he comes out from what he said."
