أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ الْفَضْلُ الْقَطَّانُ، أَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، نا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ، نا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، نا خَلَفُ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ، عَنْ سَيَّارٍ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ
قَالَ: " انْطَلَقْتُ أَنَا وَأَخِي حَتَّى دَخَلْنَا عَلَى الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ خُثَيْمٍ، فَإِذَا هُوَ جَالِسٌ فِي مَسْجِدِهِ، فَسَلَّمْنَا عَلَيْهِ فَرَدَّ عَلَيْنَا السَّلَامَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: مَا جَاءَ بِكُمْ؟ قُلْنَا: جِئْنَا لِتَذْكُرَ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَنَذْكُرُهُ مَعَكَ، وَتَحْمَدُ اللهَ وَنَحْمَدُهُ مَعَكَ قَالَ: فَرَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ يَقُولُ: الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ، لِمْ تَقُولَا: جِئْنَاكَ تَشْرَبُ فَنَشْرَبُ مَعَكَ، وَلَا جِئْنَاكَ تَزْنِي فَنَزْنِي مَعَكَ "
