أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، نا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، نا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، نا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، نا أَبِي، عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ مَحْمُودِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ، وَهُوَ الَّذِي مَجَّ
رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فِي وَجْهِهِ مِنْ بِئْرِهِمْ، أَنَّ شَدَّادَ بْنَ أَوْسِ بْنِ ثَابِتِ ابْنِ أَخِي حَسَّانِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ بَكَى وَمَحْمُودٌ جَالِسٌ مَعَهُ، قَالَ: " يَا نَعَايَا الْعَرَبِ "، قَالَ: فَقُلْتُ لَهُ: مَا يُبْكِيكَ يَرْحَمُكُ اللهُ؟ قَالَ: " إِنَّ أَخْوَفَ مَا أَخَافُ عَلَى هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ الرِّيَاءُ، وَالشَّهْوَةُ الْخَفِيَّةُ، إِنَّكُمْ إِذْ لَا تُؤْتَوْنَ إِلَّا مِنْ قِبَلِ الرُّؤُوسِ الَّذِينَ إِذَا أَمَرُوا بِخَيْرٍ أُطِيعُوا، وَإِذَا أَمَرُوا بِشَرٍّ أُطِيعُوا، وَمَا الْمُنَافِقُ إِنَّ الْمُنَافِقَ كَالْبَذَخِ أَخْتَنِقَ فِي رِيقِهِ لَا يَضُرُّهُ إِلَّا نَفْسِهِ ". " كَذَا قَالَ: وَمِنْ وَجْهٍ آخَرَ عَنْ شَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ مُسْنَدًا بِهَذَا اللَّفْظِ "
