He mentioned the story of the adulterer and his stoning. He said: The Prophet ﷺ heard the words of two men of his Companions, one of whom was saying to his companion: "Look at this one whom Allah, Mighty and Majestic, had concealed, but he did not leave himself alone until he was stoned as a dog is stoned." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ remained silent about them, until he passed by a dead kid with its leg raised. The Prophet ﷺ said to them: "Get down and eat." They said: "May Allah forgive you, O Messenger of Allah, who can eat from this?" He said: "By Allah, what you have taken from your brother is worse than your eating this. Indeed he is [now] immersed in the rivers of Paradise." And it was said: "he will be immersed." ʿAbd al-Razzāq says: ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. al-Ṣāmit, or ʿAbdullāh; and Ḥammād b. Salamah says: from Abū al-Zubayr, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. al-Nahhās.
