أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ كَامِلٍ الْقَاضِي، نا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ أَبِي أُسَامَةَ، وَأَبُو يَزِيدَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ رَوْحٍ الْبَزَّارُ،
أَنَّ عُبَيْدَ اللهِ بْنَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَفْصٍ الْعُمَيْسَ أَنْشَدَهُمْ فِي ابْنِهِ:" [البحر الكامل] حَسَدُوا الْفَتَى إِذْ لَمْ يَنَالُوا سَعْيَهُ... فَالنَّاسُ أَضْدَادٌ لَهُ وَخُصُومُ كَضَرَائِرِ الْحَسْنَاءِ قُلْنَ لِزَوْجِهَا... حَسَدًا وَبَغْيًا إِنَّهَا لَدَمِيمُ وَتَرَى اللَّبِيبَ مُشْتِمًا لَمْ يَحْتَرَمْ... عِرْضَ الرِّجَالِ وَعِرْضُهُ مَشْتُومُ"
