أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الصَّنْعَانِيُّ، ثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ
قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ عُمَرَ وَهُوَ يُعَاتِبُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَوْفٍ فِي قَمِيصٍ مِنْ حَرِيرٍ تَحْتَ ثِيَابِهِ وَمَعَهُ الزُّبَيْرُ وَعَلَيْهِ أَيْضًا قَمِيصٌ مِنْ حَرِيرٍ فَقَالَ: أَلْقِ عَنْكَ هَذَا فَجَعَلَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ يَضْحَكُ وَيَقُولُ: " لَوْ أَطَعْتَنَا لَبِسْتَ مِثْلَهُ قَالَ: فَنَظَرْتُ إِلَى قَمِيصِ عُمَرَ فَرَأَيْتُ بَيْنَ كَتِفَيْهِ أَرْبَعَ رِقَاعٍ مَا يُشْبِهُ بَعْضُهَا بَعْضًا "
