أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ دَاوُدَ الرَّزَّازُ ثَنَا أَبُو عَمْرٍو عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الدَّقَّاقُ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدَكٍ الْقَرَّارُ، ثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، ثَنَا لَيْثٌ، ح وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، وَأَبُو ذَرِّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ أَبِي الْقَاسِمِ الْمُذَكِّي، قَالَا: ثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الصَّفَارُ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، ثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مِهْرَانَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، ثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ثَنَا لَيْثٌ، ثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ الْهَادِ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنِ الْقَعْقَاعِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ يَقُولُ:
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ:" غَطُّوا الْإِنَاءَ وَأَوْكُوا السِّقَاءَ فَإِنَّ فِي السَّنَةِ لَيْلَةً يَنْزِلُ فِيهَا وَبَاءٌ لَا يَمُرُّ بِإِنَاءٍ لَمْ يُغَطَّ وَلَا سِقَاءٍ لَمْ يُوكَ إِلَّا وَقَعَ فِيهِ مِنْ ذَلِكَ الْوَبَاءِ" وَقَالَ: عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ أَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلِمٌ مِنْ وَجْهَيْنِ آخَرَيْنِ عَنِ اللَّيْثِ وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ، قَالَ اللَّيْثُ: فَالْأَعَاجِمُ يَتَّقُونَ ذَلِكَ مِنَ الْكَانُونِ الْأَوَّلِ

And he said: From Jābir b. ʿAbdullāh al-Anṣārī. Muslim transmitted it through two other routes from al-Layth. And in one narration, from Layth, al-Layth said: The non-Arabs guard against that from the first Kānūn (December).
