أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، ثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ الْخَيَّاطُ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ السَّرِيَّ
يَقُولُ: رَجَعْتُ مُرَّةً فَرَأَيْتُ فِي طَرِيقِي نَقِيرًا مَمْلُوءًا مَاءً صَافِيًا وَحَوْلَهُ عُشْبٌ مِنْ حَشِيشٍ، قَدْ نَبَتَ، فَقُلْتُ فِي نَفْسِي: " يَا سَرِيُّ لَوْ كُنْتَ يَوْمًا أَكَلَتْ أَكَلْتَ حَلَالًا، وَشَرِبْتَ شَرْبَةً حَلَالًا، فَالْيَوْمُ فَنَزَلْتُ، عَنْ دَابَّتِي فَأَكَلْتُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ الْحَشِيشِ، وَشَرِبْتُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ الْمَاءِ فَهَتَفَ بِي هَاتِفٌ، سَمِعْتُ الصَّوْتَ وَلَمْ أَرَ الشَّخْصَ يَا سَرِيَّ الْمُغَلِّسَ، فَالنَّفَقَةُ الَّتِي بَلَغَتْكَ إِلَى هُنَا مِنْ أَيْنَ هِيَ؟ "
