أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا بَكْرٍ الْمفِيدَ يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ جَدِّي يَعْنِي الْعَبَّاسَ بْنَ حَمْزَةَ يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ ذَا النُّونِ الْمِصْرِيَّ
يَقُولُ: " إِنَّ الْعَارِفَ اسْتَغْنَى بِرَبِّهِ فَمَنْ أَغْنَى مِنْهُ فَلَذَّتُهُ ذِكْرُهُ، وَإِنَاخَتُهُ بِفِنَائِهِ وَاسْتِئْنَاسٌ بِهِ " قَالَ وَسَمِعْتُ ذَا النُّونِ يَقُولُ: " مَنْ عَرَفَ رَبَّهُ وَجَدَ طَعْمَ الْعُبُودِيَّةِ وَلَذَّةَ الذِّكْرِ وَالطَّاعَةِ فَهُوَ مَعَ الْخَلْقِ بِبَدَنِهِ، وَقَدْ بَايَنَهُمْ بِالْهُمُومِ وَالْخَطَرَاتِ "
