أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ الْفَقِيهُ، أنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْفَحَّامُ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، نا عَفَّانُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، نا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، نا الْمُعَلَّى بْنُ زِيَادٍ،
قَالَ: قَالَ مُوَرِّقٌ الْعِجْلِيُّ: " أَمْرٌ أَنَا فِي طَلَبِهِ مُنْذُ عِشْرِينَ سَنَةً لَمْ أَقْدِرْ عَلَيْهِ وَلَسْتُ بِتَارِكٍ طَلَبَهُ أَبَدًا " قَالُوا: وَمَا هُوَ يَا أَبَا الْمُعْتَمِرِ؟ قَالَ: " الصَّمْتُ عَمَّا لَا يَعْنِينِي "
