وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، نا وَالِدِي، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيَّبِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ خُبَيْقٍ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ وُهَيْبَ بْنَ الْهُذَيْلِ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ يُوسُفَ بْنَ أَسْبَاطٍ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ:
" مَكَثَ الْحَسَنُ ثَلَاثِينَ سَنَةً لَمْ يَضْحَكْ وَأَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً لَمْ يَمْزَحْ " قَالَ وَقَالَ الْحَسَنُ: " لَقَدْ أَدْرَكْتُ أَقْوَامًا مَا أَنَا عِنْدَهُمْ إِلَّا لِصٌّ "
