From the Prophet ﷺ, who said: "In the last times, the dream of the believer will hardly ever be false, and the most truthful of them in dreams is the most truthful of them in speech. Dreams are of three kinds: the good dream, which is glad tidings from God, Mighty and Majestic; the dream that a man tells to himself; and the dream that is a cause of grief from Satan. So if one of you sees a dream that he dislikes, let him not tell it to anyone, and let him get up and pray." Abū Hurayrah said: "I like the shackle and I dislike the iron collar. The shackle is steadfastness in the religion." He said: And the Messenger of God ﷺ said: "The dream of the believer is one part of forty-six parts of prophecy."
