أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، وَأَبُو مُسْلِمٍ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ، قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ،
قَالَ: لَمَّا قَرَأَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ سُورَةَ الرَّحْمَنِ عَلَى أَصْحَابِهِ حَتَّى فَرَغَ، قَالَ: " مَالِي أَرَاكُمْ سُكُوتًا؟ لَلْجِنُّ كَانُوا أَحْسَنَ مِنْكُمْ رَدًّا. مَا قَرَأْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنْ مَرَّةٍ: {فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ} [الرحمن: 13]، إِلَّا قَالُوا: وَلَا بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ نِعَمِكَ رَبِّنَا نُكَذِّبُ فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ "
