أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَحْمَشٍ الزِّيَادِيُّ، أَخْبَرَنَا حَاجِبُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الطُّوسِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحِيمِ بْنُ مُنِيبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ، أخبرنا سُهَيْلُ بْنُ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ،
قَالَ: قِيلَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَخْبِرْنَا بِمَا يَعْدِلُ الْجِهَادَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ؟ قَالَ: " لَا تَسْتَطِيعُونَهُ " قَالُوا: بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ. قَالَ: " لَا تَسْتَطِيعُونَهُ " قَالُوا: بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ. - قَالَ: فَمَا أَدْرِي. قَالَ لَهُمْ فِي الثَّالِثَةِ أَوِ الرَّابِعَةِ -: " مَثَلُ الْمُجَاهِدِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ كَمَثَلِ الْقَائِمِ الصَّائِمِ الْقَانِتِ بِآيَاتِ اللهِ لَا يَفْتُرُ مِنْ صِيَامٍ وَصَلَاةٍ ".
