He said: I saw al-Uṣayliʿ, meaning ʿUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb (may God be pleased with him), come to the Black Stone, and he said: "I will kiss you, though I know that you are a stone that neither harms nor benefits, and that God, Mighty and Majestic, is my Lord. Had I not seen the Messenger of God ﷺ kiss you, I would not have kissed you." He said: And Yūsuf b. Yaʿqūb narrated to us, Abū al-Rabīʿ narrated to us, Ḥammād b. Zayd narrated to us, from ʿĀṣim al-Aḥwal, with his chain of transmission, similar to it, and the hadith of ʿAbd al-Wāḥid is more complete. Muslim recorded it in the Ṣaḥīḥ from the hadith of Ḥammād b. Zayd, and the two of them (al-Bukhārī and Muslim) recorded it from another route from ʿUmar.
