That he saw the freed slave of Usāmah b. Zayd, and he narrated to him, saying: Usāmah b. Zayd used to fast on Monday and Thursday in the month. So I said to him: What is the matter with you, that you fast on Monday and Thursday when you are an old man? He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to fast on Monday and Thursday. So I said to him: O Messenger of Allah, what is the matter with you, that you fast on Monday and Thursday? He said: "Indeed, the deeds of people are presented on Monday and Thursday." And we have narrated, concerning the presentation of deeds to Allah every Thursday and Monday, from Abū Hurayrah, from the Prophet ﷺ.
