That he asked Ibn ʿAbbās about the Resurrection and what is in it, and he narrated to him and mentioned what we have written about it. This chain is weak (ḍaʿīf) because of Murrah, except that we have reported in the authentic hadith, from al-Aʿmash, from Abū Ṣāliḥ, from Abū Hurayrah, from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, who said: "Between the two blasts there are forty." They said: "O Abū Hurayrah, forty days?" He said: "I refuse (to say)." They said: "Forty months?" He said: "I refuse." They said: "Forty years?" He said: "I refuse." He said: "Then Allah, Mighty and Majestic, sends down water from the sky, and they sprout as vegetation sprouts." He said: "There is nothing of the human being that does not decay except one bone, which is the tailbone (ʿajb al-dhanab), and from it the creation will be reassembled on the Day of Resurrection."
