Chain of narrators
machine translationAs Abū Muḥammad ʿAbdullāh b. Yūsuf al-Aṣbahānī informed us: Abū al-Ṭayyib al-Muẓaffar b. Sahl al-Khalīlī narrated to us: Isḥāq b. Ayyūb b. Ḥassān al-Wāsiṭī narrated to us, from his father, who said: I heard a man ask Sufyān b. ʿUyaynah

He said: "O Abū Muḥammad, what do you say about what the Prophet ﷺ narrates from his Lord, Mighty and Majestic: 'Every deed of the son of Ādam is for him, except fasting, for it is for Me and I reward for it'?" Ibn ʿUyaynah said: "This is one of the finest and most judicious of hadiths. When the Day of Resurrection comes, God, Mighty and Majestic, will take His servant to account and will settle the wrongs he owes out of all of his deeds, until nothing remains but fasting. Then God, Mighty and Majestic, will bear whatever wrongs remain against him, and will admit him to Paradise because of fasting."
