أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ الْفَقِيهُ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو حَامِدِ بْنُ بِلَالٍ، حدثنا أَبُو الْأَزْهَرِ، حدثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي الْحَجَّاجِ، عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ سِنَانٍ، حَدَّثَنِي رَجَاءُ بْنُ حَيْوَةَ
قَالَ: سُئِلَ جَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ هَلْ كُنْتُمْ تُسَمُّونَ مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ كُفْرًا أَوْ شِرْكًا أَوْ نِفَاقًا؟ قَالَ: " مَعَاذَ اللهِ، وَلَكِنَّا نَقُولُ: مُؤْمِنِينَ مُذْنِبِينَ " قَالَ الْبَيْهَقِيُّ رَحِمَهُ اللهُ: وَرُوِّينَا فِي مَعْنَاهُ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، وَسَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ، وَحُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ الْيَمَانِ وَغَيْرِهِمْ " وَقَدْ ثَبَتَ بِمَا ذَكَرْنَا هَهُنَا، وَفِي كِتَابِ الْبَعْثِ أَنَّ الْمُؤْمِنَ لَا يُخَلَّدُ فِي النَّارِ بِذُنُوبِهِ غَيْرَ أَنَّ الْقَدْرَ الَّذِي يَبْقَى فِيهَا غَيْرُ مَعْلُومٍ، وَالَّذِي تَلْحَقُهُ الشَّفَاعَةُ ابْتِدَاءً حَتَّى لَا يُعَذَّبَ أَصْلًا غَيْرُ مَعْلُومٍ، فَالذَّنْبُ خَطَرُهُ عَظِيمٌ، وَشَأْنُهُ جَسِيمٌ، وَرَبُّنَا غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ عِقَابَهُ شَدِيدٌ أَلِيمٌ "
